Restaurant St-Bruno

Established in 1970

The Story of St-Bruno's Most Beloved Italian Eatery

Since first opening its doors in 1970, Restaurant St-Bruno—founded by Pasquale Bastone and his brothers—has been a gathering place for those who crave the warmth, flavor, and authenticity of Italian cuisine. Built on the values of family, tradition, and hospitality, it quickly became more than just a restaurant—it became part of the community.

More than five decades later, that same spirit endures. Today, Pasquale Bastone’s children proudly carry on the legacy, blending time-honored recipes with fresh inspiration. While much has evolved, our heart remains unchanged: serving food that feels like home, made with love, and shared around the table.

Our History

1970
The legacy begins

From humble beginnings, the story of Restaurant St-Bruno began in 1970, when two brothers from Calabria, Italy, brought their passion for authentic Italian flavors to their new community. At the corner of Rabastalière and Albani, they prepared delicious pizzas for take-out and delivery from a small garage, winning over the community one slice at a time.

1974
Setting roots down

By 1974, their hard work and dedication led to the opening of their very own restaurant in the heart of Saint-Bruno, on Montarville Street — marking the true beginning of a cherished local tradition.

Growing With the Community

As the town of Saint-Bruno continued to grow, we grew alongside it; expanding our space in 1981 and later in 2000, adding a beautiful rooftop terrace where families, friends, and neighbours gathered for dinners, celebrations, and countless shared memories.

1990–2000
A Local Classic

For decades, we've remained a South Shore landmark. Our recipes, passed down through generations, became synonymous with tradition, consistency, and the joy of sharing authentic Italian food.

2013
A New Chapter

In the wake of a devastating fire that completely destroyed the building, Restaurant St-Bruno was rebuilt from the ground up and proudly reopened its doors in 2013; a true symbol of perseverance and community spirit.

Today
Tradition, Elevated

More than half a century later, Restaurant St-Bruno is both a South Shore institution and a modern dining destination. Still family-owned and operated, we honour our roots while offering an elevated experience, complete with creative cocktails, a vibrant atmosphere, and a menu designed to delight every guest.
